Cheesy Vegan Mash
Buttery creamy mash is a winning side to our pies. This perfect recipe contains all the buttery and creaminess, without the dairy. The mash has a delicious cheesy flavour too, the perfect combination with our new Butternut Chilli & Cheese pie.
Let’s start with the ingredients:
6 large potatoes, cut and cubed
200g vegan butter (melted)
120ml almond milk
50g diced chives
salt & pepper to taste
and our secret ingredient for cheesy nutty goodness, 50g of nutritional yeast!
Start with bringing a large pot to boil, add a little salt and add the cubed potatoes. Give it a good stir and allow to boil for around 20 minutes, or until soft.
Drain the potatoes and put them in a meshed sieve, use a spoon to push the potatoes through into a bowl, this will give you a beautiful smooth texture. If you prefer a more textured mash feel free to just use a potato masher!
Next, stir in the vegan butter, almond milk, nutritional yeast and chives. Once stirred, smoothed and looking delicious, salt and pepper to your taste.
Now plate it up alongside one of our new Butternut Chilli & Cheese pies (suitable for a plant based diet) and you have the perfect combo! Enjoy!Back to Journel
